Privacy Policy
What we collect, how we use it, and how you stay in control of it.
What we collect
- Account info: name, email, password (stored as a secure hash), golf profile (handicap, goals).
- Golf data: rounds, hole-by-hole scores and stats, marked shot locations (GPS), club data, simulator/launch-monitor data you import.
- Location: your device’s GPS position while you use the on-course GPS screen. We do not track location in the background or when the app is closed.
- Media: swing videos you upload and, from coaches, feedback recordings (voice notes, annotated frames, video reviews).
- Technical: basic device/browser info, and error reports if something breaks, so we can fix it.
How we use it
To run LEVVL: show your stats and trends, generate AI analysis and practice plans, power the GPS and club features, deliver coach feedback, and send notifications you opt into. We also use aggregated, de-identified data to improve LEVVL’s analytics. We do not sell your personal data.
AI processing
Your golf statistics (and, when you use those features, simulator data) are processed by AI providers, Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI, to generate your analysis and coaching text. We send the statistics needed for the analysis, not your name or contact details. These providers process the data to provide the service to us.
Coach sharing: you are in control
Your data is private to you unless you accept a coach connection. Accepting gives that coach access to your rounds, stats, analyses, club/sim data, and swing videos. Disconnecting (Profile → Your coach → Disconnect) immediately revokes their access. Coaches never see your account credentials.
Junior golfers
LEVVL is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Golfers aged 13 to 17 may use LEVVL in connection with a coaching program only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Coaches are responsible for obtaining that consent before inviting a junior player. Parents can request access to or deletion of their child’s data at the contact below.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and encrypted file storage) and served via Vercel. Swing videos and audio are stored privately. They are accessible only to you, your connected coach, and LEVVL for operating the service. Course data comes from GolfIntelligence.
Notifications
Push notifications are strictly opt-in and can be disabled anytime in your device settings. Email is used for account actions (invites, password resets) and occasional product updates during beta.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Swing videos are capped (currently your latest 20; older clips are deleted automatically). You can delete individual rounds and videos in-app. To delete your whole account and its data, contact us. We complete deletion within 30 days.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, corrections, or deletion at any time. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights; we honor reasonable requests regardless.
Changes
We’ll update this policy as LEVVL evolves and announce material changes in the app.
